Steps to convert Publisher file to Word File

  • Start Microsoft Publisher application and open the file you want to convert to Word format.
  • Click File tab on top and select Save As. In the new window change the Save as type from Publisher Files to Word 97-2003 Document or Word 2007 Document if your publisher version is 2007. For Publisher 2003 you can select the file type Word 97-2002 & 6.0/95 – RTF.
  • Now click on the Save button and click Ok  if you get a warning message stating that file type only supports text.

Steps to convert publisher file into an image and open it on word

  • Start Microsoft Publisher application and open the file you want to convert to Word format.
  • Click File tab on top of the screen and select Save As. In the new window change the Save as type to JPEG File Interchange Format and then click on Save. Microsoft word support .jpg as well as .bmp files.
  • Open Microsoft word and select the location where you want to place the Publisher image. For Word 2007, Click on the Insert tab and select Picture from the group name Illustration.

  • For Word 2003, click on the Insert tab and then select Picture and locate your picture and click Ok.
  • To insert the Image you need to double click on the File. Click on File and save your new document In Word format. Put the desired name and click Save and your file is inserted.
