OneTech Computers Limited is a consumer electronics retailer headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. We sell refurbished and new laptops, desktops, and accessories through this website and our physical stores.

We are the data controller for all personal information collected through onetechcomputers.com. You can reach our team at privacy@onetechcomputers.com.

We collect information in three ways:

• Information you give us — name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and payment details when you create an account or place an order.
• Information from your activity — pages visited, products viewed, searches, cart additions, and order history so we can make your experience relevant.
• Device and connection information — browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring URL, collected automatically via cookies and server logs.

We never collect sensitive personal data (biometrics, health, national ID numbers) and we never buy marketing lists.

We use your data only for purposes we have a lawful basis for:

• Fulfilling your orders, including payment processing and delivery coordination.
• Sending transactional messages — order confirmations, shipping updates, and warranty reminders.
• Providing customer support when you contact us.
• Improving site performance, search relevance, and product recommendations.
• Sending promotional emails if you opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
• Complying with legal obligations (tax records, fraud prevention).

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

We share the minimum data necessary with trusted third parties to run our service:

• Payment processors (e.g. Safaricom M-PESA, Visa/Mastercard gateways) to complete your transaction.
• Courier partners to arrange delivery and send tracking updates.
• Cloud infrastructure — our servers and email systems are hosted on services bound by data processing agreements.
• Analytics providers — aggregated, pseudonymised usage data only; no personally identifiable information.

We never sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers for targeting purposes.

We keep data only as long as necessary:

• Account data — held for the life of your account plus 12 months after closure.
• Order records — 7 years, as required by Kenyan tax law.
• Marketing preferences — until you unsubscribe, after which we retain a suppression record indefinitely so we don't accidentally re-subscribe you.
• Support conversations — 3 years, in case a warranty claim needs historical context.

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data at any time. You can also object to processing or withdraw consent for marketing.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@onetechcomputers.com with your name and the specific request. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we've handled your data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) at odpc.go.ke.

All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Payment credentials never touch our servers — they are tokenised at the payment provider. Access to production databases is restricted to a small number of engineers and protected by multi-factor authentication. We conduct periodic security reviews and respond to vulnerability disclosures at security@onetechcomputers.com.
